Job description

If you have customer service experience in the automotive, retail or hospitality industry and are looking for a rewarding career in the automotive industry, this may be the role for you.

As a BMW Motorrad Customer Service Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Meeting customer service standards within our motorcycle service and repair department
  • Customer check in/ check out on a daily basis
  • Loading the motorcycle workshop accurately using agreed measurement programs, to develop flat rate times for labour utilisation and costs
  • Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff and prepare costing reports using cost analysis methods
  • Providing technical and produce engineering information about the parts including cost and efficiency to ensure the quality of the service to match the client's needs and safety concerns.
  • Monitor progress in the motorcycle workshop to ensure client needs are met on time
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying all related maintenance repair and vehicle documents, consulting with workshop technicians, parts department, and other professional personnel
  • Advise motorcycle clients of all future maintenance work recommended and repair priorities to keep the vehicle operating in optimal condition
  • Improve overall allocations and workforce recovery, utilisation of workshop, planning, operational data, and maintenance schedules with costs to determine optimum technicians and maintenance efficiency
  • Managing client concerns by identifying the optimum process to do the work and help clients to select more efficient choices.

The ideal applicant should have:

  • Professional presentation and excellent phone manner
  • A strong work ethic and demonstrated customer care experience
  • Worked before in the automotive industry. 
  • A passion for motorcycles and a love of riding
  • Knowledge of how different systems interact and how changes in operation, the environment, and other conditions will affect outcomes
  • Knowledge of vehicles, parts, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Ability to plan, organise and control work processes
  • Organise costs and payments for labour required for each maintenance job and manage inventory of just-in-time parts to avoid aged stock
  • Effective technical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
