About the Role
As a Boilermaker at KHG, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mine ore processing equipment under our existing maintenance contracts.
Your primary responsibility will be the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of various mining equipment components and structures, contributing to the overall reliability fixed plant equipment and contribute to the success of our operations.
KHG currently is keeping an experienced Boilermaker to join our team on an 8/6 7/7 roster.
Scope of work
Welding and Fabrication:
Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and equipment using a variety of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure precise workmanship.
Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mining machinery and equipment.
Identify and address structural or mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain safety.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in safety practices.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other tradespeople, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate tasks and meet production goals.
Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior staff when required.
Materials Handling:
Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Manage inventory and requisition materials as needed for projects.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment repairs and maintenance activities.
Report any deviations, incidents, or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Qualification and Requirement:
- Experience in the mining, civil, or industrial construction sectors
- Proven experience as a Boilermaker in the mining or heavy industry.
- Trade qualifications in Boilermaking or relevant certifications.
- Proficiency in welding techniques and equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety protocols and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of working in challenging environments.
- Proof of working right
- Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry tickets (must be 2 years from issued date).
- White Card
- HRWL (High Risk Work Licence if you have a current one e.g. Forklift)
- Driver’s Licence
- Australian Certified Trade Certificate
- Must pass Pre-employment Medical, DAS and Respirator Fit Test
- Onsite D&A test carried out daily
- Clear picture of face (headshot) for Induction Profile
