As a Workshop Tradesperson – Boilermaker at Bis Industries, you will work both in the workshop and in the field, providing preventative welding maintenance and repairs to plant machinery. This includes loaders, graders, man transporters, attachments, and various other underground machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely maintain and repair mobile and fixed plant equipment.
- Operate tools and machinery safely, adhering to their intended purposes.
- Conduct pre-starts and ongoing inspections on all equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and ensure proper storage of tools.
- Report any defective or unsafe equipment.
- Provide on-the-job training and supervision for apprentices.
- Accurately complete and submit paperwork at the end of each shift.
- Immediately report any non-conformance, incidents, or injuries to the Supervisor.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve business goals.
- Maintain open communication within the team.
- Actively participate in meetings and safety shares.
The Successful Applicant Will Possess:
- Relevant trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder.
- Knowledge and experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repairs (e.g., road trains, loaders).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.

We provide casual and long-term hire of run of mine equipment including Load Haul Dump (LHD) Machines, Graders and Personnel Transporters. Bis also provide casual and long-term hire of Longwall Move Equipment including Mules, Heavy Lift Load Haul Dump Machines, Pan Pickers, and Dozers, ensuring greater security and flexibility while preserving valuable capital for our clients.
Our Diesel and Electrical Services Division offer complete equipment overhauls, scheduled servicing and machine repairs using the workshop base, and field service crews equipped to operate autonomously at the site of the customer.
