Boilermaker - Prestons Workshop
- Full time position
- 5/2 Roster (10 Hour day shift)
- Opportunity for overtime
- Immediate start on offer for suitable applicant

Roles and duties include:
- Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks utilizing various techniques such as TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, or Stick welding to join stainless steel components.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Material Preparation: Prepare stainless steel surfaces for welding by cleaning, degreasing, and removing any contaminants that may affect the quality of the weld.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that welded joints meet specified requirements in terms of strength, quality, and dimensional accuracy.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety guidelines during all welding operations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members, including engineers, fabricators, and quality control inspectors, to achieve project objectives and deadlines
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
Successful applicants must have:
- Welding Expertise: Proven experience in stainless steel welding with proficiency in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Technical Skills: Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of precision and quality in welding operations.
- Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to troubleshoot welding issues and implement effective solutions.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications AS1796, however AS1554.6 and AS3992 are a minimum
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Current Manual Driver’s License.
