About the role

The role of Boilermaker is responsible for various steel fabrication, working safely within workshop and field work environments across at various sites.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Carry out steel fabrication repair maintenance works as directed by the Fabrication Team Leader
  • Design, develop and fabricate new steel works “fit for purpose” as directed by the Fabrication Team Leader
  • Install and/or remove steel work assets as required and directed for either new or repaired works in ensuring a safe work environment

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade certified as Fabricator/Welder, Boilermaker, Boilermaker or related field
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence
• Current MR Drivers Licence or willingness to obtain
• Current Confined Space Entry Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Working at Heights Competency or willingness to obtain

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position sits between $61.5K - $73.8K per annum plus $18.28 weekly allowance plus 11% superannuation
  • This is a permanent full-time.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
  • Successful candidates may be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake and pass a Confined Spaces medical. 

Council will be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
