You will be working in a mining and resource hot spot, so experience working with heavy structural steel and earthmoving equipment is a necessity. An example of your work could be welding or fabricating dump truck bodies or steel that will be used in mining infrastructure.
Experience and Requirements:
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for metal fabrication projects
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to plans
- Use manual or automated equipment for cutting, shaping, and bending metal
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as Arc, MIG, Stick and Flux Core Heavy Welding
- Read and interpret welding blueprints to determine welding requirements
- Prepare workpieces by cleaning, cutting, and fitting metal components
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate methods based on materials
- Conduct inspections to ensure finished products meet quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to optimize fabrication processes
- Maintain records of materials used and production timelines
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Follow welding procedures and protocols for consistent quality
- Complete projects within set timelines and budgets
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Base Rate: $35/hr
- $10-$25/hr in allowances based on experience and role
- Total hourly rate: $45/hr - $60/hr
