🌱Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This role will also include producing financial reports, managing accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This is a 6-month contract position. Work hours negotiable (20-30 hours per week) 

🌱Responsibilities: The Bookkeeping Manager role will be a 6-month contract position, within a small high performing office team. Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Transition and management of end-to-end payroll processing and reconciliations, including complex components such as superannuation, payroll tax, and Workcover.
  • Overseeing both accounts payable and receivable process to maintain financial accuracy and compliance within MYOB.
  • Managing supplier accounts and advising on new process to streamline operations. 
  • Preparation and review of monthly financial reports, including bank reconciliations and BAS reports.  
  • Supervising and mentoring a junior bookkeeper to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency in the accounts payable function and overall financial processes.
  • Engaging with key customers to maintain strong relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

🌱Qualifications: Suitable candidates will have a combination of the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in a similar senior leadership role within the finance industry
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/commerce or a related field
  • Proficiency in MYOB Advanced software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proven track record of handling high invoice volume. 
  • Management experience essential. 

🌱Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working as an Accountant in public practice, demonstrating a deep understanding of financial principles and regulations.
  • A solid understanding of Awards and wage classifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
