Brake Press Operator
Job Summary
As a Brake Press Operator, you will play a crucial role in our client's production process by operating and maintaining Brake Press machinery. Your attention to detail, mathematical skills, and ability to follow specifications will contribute to successfully producing precision components.
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and Interpreting: Review job cards, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Calculating Dimensions: Use your mathematical knowledge and measuring instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Layout and Marking: Lay out, measure, and mark plates to indicate bend placements.
- Machine Setup and Operation: Set up, adjust, program, and operate press brakes to meet job requirements.
- Hand Tools and Auxiliary Machinery: Utilise hand tools and other auxiliary equipment as needed.
- Quality Control: Measure and inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Machine Maintenance: Assist with machine maintenance as required.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Follow safe work procedures, report hazards, and maintain a tidy work area.
- Fluent English: Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Task Completion: Capacity to follow tasks through to completion.
- Attention to Detail: Precise and thorough in your work.
- Mathematical Ability: Comfortable with calculations.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Good coordination for operating machinery.
- Trade Certificate: Relevant qualification in metal fabrication or related field.
- Experience: 1–2 years of previous experience operating manual and/or CNC press machines.
- Forklift License: Current valid forklift license.
- Working on Brake Presses: Experience in producing detailed components and bending plates with a thickness of 5mm and upwards.
- Early Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Employees working the afternoon shift will receive a 15% shift allowance.
