The Role

QT Newcastle is seeking an experienced cafe worker with a passion for driving the highest standards for coffee and customer service. Being the flagship regional hotel for QT Hotels & Resorts, we are looking for a fantastic leader and team members to continue & improve on our signature QT service & experiences. 

As we are a medium to small hotel consisting of 104 guest rooms and four food and beverage outlets, this role will require an individual who is very hands on and can work in hybrid rolls. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will be directly responsible for the overall guest experience, providing timely and delicious food and beverage offerings and deliver QT signature service for our guests and to the local community. 

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Café floor.
• Manage the ordering and stock control of multiple outlets.
• Be aware of food and coffee trends locally and internationally
• Be aware of payroll and adjust accordingly
• Handle complaints so that it leaves customers satisfied and impressed.
• Participate in all outlet operation when needed
• Constantly motivate staff and be positive and passionate about our products.

Skills & Experience

• Proven previous experience in a similar role with a Specialty Coffee background
• Have experience in a high volume café
• Has a focus on growing and developing a team of passionate café and hotel people.
• Professional and personable, with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.
• You're pre-equipped with sound decision making and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
• You hold a current RSA
• Must have the appropriate legal requirements to work in Australia.
• Outstanding communications and presentation skills both written and verbal.
