About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Breeding Agronomist to utilise their skills and experience in plant breeding. You will be working within our dedicated team of research agronomists and be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with growers and clients;
  • Managing a breeding trial load of your own, including trial design and maintenance;
  • Complying with protocol objectives;
  • Weed, disease and insect identification;
  • Plant diagnostics;
  • Operating agricultural machinery;
  • Statistic and data interpretation.

Due to the nature of the role, there will be requirements for some overnight travel and additional work hours during peak periods. 

Remuneration will be based on the skills and experience you bring to Kalyx.

About You:

The role will suit a highly organised and driven individual with a passion for agriculture. You will also:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in Agricultural or Horticultural Science (or similar);
  • Have demonstrated experience in breeding trials;
  • Enjoy problem solving;
  • Be curious and self-motivated;
  • Be flexible and open to changing situations;
  • Enjoy working within a team and autonomously;
  • Hold a strong reputation in the industry with existing industry networks.
