Job DetailsJob Title: Building Fabrics ManagerEmployment Type: OngoingClassification: Parliamentary Service Level 6Closing Date: 11:30pm AEDT, 9 April 2024Contact: Andrew Corkery, 0411044775, andrew.corkery@aph.gov.auThe OpportunityThe Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PSL6 Manager within its Property Services Branch.The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of a work group consisting of multiple trade disciples. They will work in close consultation with the Assistant Director and provide maintenance advice and assistance, to achieve desired outcomes across the business unit.Who we are looking forThe successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships in a unique operating environment.Our ideal candidate will have:

Immediate supervisor: Assistant Director, Building Fabric ServicesUnder limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and schedule coordination of the section, ensuring a smooth completion of all tasks.
  • Provide an effective and cost-efficient client service.
  • Provide support to the Assistant Director on issues related to managing the section.
  • Maintain contemporary maintenance practices to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Ensure the highest levels of safety in compliance with the Department of Parliamentary Services Occupational Health and Safety Manual.
  • Manage staff resources and provide technical support to staff.

SalaryCurrently, the salary range for this position is $90,634 - $101,866 per annum.Conditions of EmploymentEmployment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
  • Australian citizenship - to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Security clearance and character clearance - the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • Health assessment - a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
