We are looking for a Bulk Liquids Berth Officer to play an integral role at Port Botany.
This is a permanent part time position, offering up to 35 hours per week in a rostered arrangement (twelve hour shifts).
The ideal candidate will have skills/experience as per below :
- Hazardous cargo operations
- Marine Security Guard training
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
- Tanker familiarisation
- Fire fighting and BA training
An understanding of shipping industry and hazardous facilities would also be advantageous. NSW Security licence and Forklift license preferred.
What will the role involve:
- Access control – the area is under a Maritime Security Plan (MSP)
- Security surveillance of berth area;
- Perform berthing services for the arrival and departure of commercial vessels;
- Oversee cargo transfers on behalf of the facility owner;
- Issuing of work permits for all stakeholders;
- Setting of the fire system in accordance with the requirements to control the product being discharged
- Initiation of response in the event of an incident or emergency including operating firefighting equipment
- Operate life preservation equipment at berth (BA sets, life rings, fire systems, alarm systems), including lift and carry of 15kg equipment.
