What will your role be?

As a Visitor Experience Guide you will be an integral part of our Brand Home team and will be required to deliver high standards of customer service and an outstanding and memorable Visitor Experience at all times. Our tours are the opportunity for the public to learn who we are and what we do.

As a Visitor Experience Guide, you’ll be guiding guests around our beautiful distillery representing the Bundaberg Rum. In addition to leading engaging distillery tours, at times you will also be required to train new tour guides and assist in ticket sales, our distillery retail store, our distillery bar and help deliver events from time to time.   

We’re looking for someone who values the importance of working in a team and being able to build strong working relationships with customers as well.  Ideally you will have insight into the drinks industry or worked within a hospitality environment.

Our Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience takes visitors on an immersive, multi-sensory journey, sharing our love for rum with a new generation of drinkers. Visitors will lose themselves in the journey of rum-making and make purchases from our fantastic retail offerings. We want our guests to embrace every minute with us and feel the same way we do about our heritage. The Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience is a 7 day a week operation with this role required to contribute to ensuring that outstanding performance is delivered compliantly every day.

What does this role look like for you?

Perform cross functional tasks that deliver the successful day to day running of the Visitor Experience facility including but not limited to:

  • Tour guiding
  • Ticket sales
  • Retail sales
  • Bar tending
  • Site cleaning
  • Event execution
  • General reporting

Achieving strategic and financial targets:

  • Assist the wider Visitor Experience team in delivering financial, visitation and customer service targets.
  • Grow and foster the loyalty agenda.

Drive safety, compliance and ethical standards:

  • Adhere to our site’s safety standards and promote the safety culture in the Visitor Experience team to ensure that all our staff and guests remain safe.
  • Drive compliance and cash handling responsibilities in line with CARM guidelines.
  • Represent Diageo and the Bundaberg Rum brand in a responsible and professional manner. 
  • Promote social responsibility in the consumption of alcohol products and adherence to the Diageo marketing code.

What will you bring to the table?

  • 3+ years of Retail/ Tourism/ Hospitality experience.
  • Strong desire to learn more about the Bundaberg Rum story, brand, and its characteristics.
  • Possess a friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality.
  • Be familiar with sales protocols and customer service procedures.
  • An excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Possess the ability to build positive relationships with customers.
  • Possess a problem-solving attitude; ability to act calmly and professionally in a high-pressure environment.
  • Results driven with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact; possess strong ability to multi-task and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
