About the Position
Pentarch Logistics division provides timber processing, portside storage, quality control, measurement and logistics solutions for the export of log and allied wood products within Australia.
We are seeking an experienced Maintenace Trade person who is looking for a new challenge with a growing and progressive company. Our Maintenance Trade will support our production team and be responsible for assisting the maintenance team on a day-to-day basis. This is a Permanent Full-Time position which will provide ongoing services to plant equipment at our site in Burnie, Tasmania.
This role will have consistent shifts starting at 6am with some opportunity for weekend work and early finishes on a Friday. In addition, we offer a competitive rate of pay and entitlements as well as a chance to work in a supportive team.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Working with the maintenance team to ensure our equipment is functioning correctly by assisting with both breakdown and preventative maintenance of site plant equipment.
- Performing repairs and service of vehicles and equipment, in a timely manner unsupervised or as a team.
- Utilizes company systems to ensure work schedules and maintenance carried out is recorded (AMPRO) accurately to facilitate reporting needs.
- Ensure all personnel activities follow the facility’s WHS and HR policies and procedures
- Ensure all activities follow the facility’s environmental licenses and the Pentarch environmental management program.
- Provide safety supports for high-risk activities such as fire watch, spotter, confined space etc.
- Ensuring that good housekeeping standards are continually maintained.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Trades assistant working within a similar environment is essential.
- A relevant trade qualification (Diesel Fitter/Welder/Mechanic) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety issues and a high regard for employee safety.
- Self-motivated with a drive and commitment to complete work to a high standard.
- Willingness to adapt to changes for continuous improvement in processes.
