About you
We are looking for a reliable Bus Driver to join our team. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school and extracurricular events, following a scheduled route and ensuring the safety of all passengers. They report to the Principal and Business Manager and maintain a clean bus at all times and obey traffic laws while transporting students.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- be attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensure passenger safety
- follow the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops
- regularly check vehicle safety such as tyres, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment
- work collaboratively as part of a team and at times autonomously
- be willing to undergo any relevant training appropriate for the role
- commitment to supporting a positive religious and cultural Catholic School environment.
About the role:
- transport children and other passengers to and from school
- obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive at their destination safely
- maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
- ensure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the bus
- assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
- engage with students as they enter and leave the bus.
Minimum skills and experience required:
- proven work experience as a School Bus Driver or similar role
- clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic infringements within the last five years
- two or more years of experience working with children is preferred
- ability to carry out assigned routes on time
- must have a Light Rigid (LR) and Medium Rigid Licence.
You will have attained:
- an Employee ID registration number with Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) or commitment to Register to Teach in SCS.
