The role

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Officer/Mini Bus Driver to join the friendly team at The Heritage of Hunters Hill on a Permanent Full Time Basis (38 hours per week) Monday to Friday. Located in Hunters Hill in Sydney, The Heritage is home to 42 apartments and elegant shared spaces including a billiards room, library and community centre.

You will be responsible for the grounds and maintenance of The Heritage Retirement Cmmunity, working in accordance with health and safety guidelines and providing a support service that enhances our customers wellbeing in their home.

What you will be doing

  • Involved in preventative and proactive maintenance.
  • Providing a range of general maintenance and building maintenance duties - this may include painting, lighting maintenance, gutters, air conditioning, tiling, basic plumbing and other general repairs.
  • Driving a 14 seater bus, assisting residents in weekly, regular outings.
  • Bin management, involving monitoring and cleaning.
  • Delivering a high level of service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff.
  • Maintenance of the shared spaces, ensuring a high standard of presentation.
  • Working within health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff, reporting hazards where appropriate.

About you

  • Previous maintenance/handyman experience essential.
  • Must have a Light Rigid (LR) license or be willing to obtain (cost of training provided)
  • Must have 2 covid vaccinations, a 2024 flu vaccination and be willing to complete first aid/CPR training (cost of training provided)
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the maintenance services in the apartment complex
  • Competent computer skills and willingness to learn asset management software.
  • Knowledge of OHS requirements with a strong resident and safety focus
  • Willing to obtain an NDIS Clearance Check if successful
