Control Risks' Embedded Consulting Practice is growing in Sydney, Australia, and we have a great opportunity for someone with proficiency in implementing and managing Business Continuity programmes to join us.
Working as part of a dedicated international team, this role will be embedded within a Fortune 100 company and will provide holistic Business Continuity services for the client's Australia & New Zealand operations, including proactive consultation, guidance, and direct support to corporate and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Executing the BC strategy as developed by the Global Head of Corporate Business Continuity and the Head of Corporate Business Continuity for each region.
- Support regional business teams to:
- Conduct business impact assessments to determine core business functions, dependencies, priorities for recovery, recovery requirements, and recovery time objective(s).
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to recovery capabilities and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement viable strategies to minimize customer impacts and ensure the timely recovery of core business functions during and after a business disruption.
- Facilitate Business Continuity training and awareness, including training on the commercial Business Continuity tool used for documentation.
- Design and facilitate meaningful plan exercises; analyze outcomes to identify trends, weaknesses/gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve plans and strengthen resiliency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Business Continuity-related inquiries and support for stakeholders within the region.
- Work with large amounts of data to provide meaningful reports and support informed decision-making.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in Business Continuity and disaster recovery to continuously improve strategies and support mechanisms within the region.
- Liaison and partnership with Security teams and support teams to implement the program.
Requirements
- 4+ years' experience implementing and managing Business Continuity or resilience for a large organization or government entity.
- Strong written and oral communication skills necessary to build relationships and positively influence decision making.
- Experience with commercial Business Continuity tools.
- Experience in supporting internal teams to respond and recover from significant disruptive events.
- Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people, and technology challenges in order to identify risks and opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the written and oral communication skills necessary to build relationships and positively influence decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple complex projects.
- Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or other Business Continuity professional certification a plus.
- Ability to travel across assigned regions and internationally as needed.
