SSS Australia now has an opening for a Personal Account Manager for our established North Brisbane & Far North QLD (Cairns) territory for our Primary HealthCare Team.

Who is SSS Australia? 

South Side Surgical Australia or ‘Triple S’ as we are known in the industry, is a medical consumable and equipment wholesaler servicing hospitals, aged care, and primary health care markets. We buy medical consumable products (i.e. wound care), diagnostic equipment and medicines from over 250 suppliers and sell them to healthcare professionals, like GP surgeries, Day Hospitals, Community Centres and other allied Healthcare professionals. 

Established nearly 50 years ago we are one of the largest privately owned and independent medical companies in Australia with our HQ on the banks of the Brisbane River in Murarrie. We are focused on delivering a high-quality service for our customers through well priced products, a simple ordering platform an experienced customer support team and personable Account Managers. 

What is a ‘Personal Account Manager’? 

SSS Australia is a customer-centric business, and our Personal Account Managers exemplify this. Their role is dedicated to our customers, helping them navigate and acquire the best medical products from our vast product range of over 16,000 products so they can provide superior care and outcomes for their patients.   Our personal account managers encompass both elements of Business Development and key Account Management, through prospecting, on-boarding new customers and supporting them through their transition to SSS Australia. Our team of Personal Account Managers are the ‘face of the company’ or ‘concierge’ and assist our customers find products, advise them, trouble shoot and facilitate speedy supply.

If you are good at this role, you will quickly become one of the most essential parts of our customers business. Why? Because they will rely on you provide them with great value products, sound advice and prompt delivery.  

More about being a Personal Account Manager 

  • This is an autonomous customer facing role with a defined territory (North Brisbane to North Lakes and Cairns/Townsville) of current and prospective customers.
  • You will have defined sales targets and business metrics for growing our existing accounts and onboarding new accounts.  
  • You will be supported from head office with weekly sales reports, CRM tracking and direct access to our ERP for detailed customer profiling and analytics.
  • You will be expected to maintain a high level of client servicing through regular planned and meaningful face to face, video conferencing and phone calls. 
  • You will be provided the tools of the trade including a company car or allowance, phone, notebook, plus a desk space at our head office in Murarrie or home office set up.
  • You will be liaising with medical and purchasing staff (mostly Registered Nurses and Practice Managers) in GP clinics, Private Specialists, Day Hospitals and Skin and Beauty industry. 
  • You will stay abreast of treatment techniques, products and practice accreditation requirements and from time to time facilitate continues education and training.
  • You will be expected to complete business administrative duties like using our CRM system (ZOHO) as you go during the day, monthly expenses and other reporting duties in a timely fashion. 

To be successful in this role, it is likely you:

  • Have at least 3- 5 years of sales experience in the healthcare industry or have  a clinical background and have been working in the healthcare Industry.
  • You live in the prescribed territory (mandatory) and are willing to travel as required (essential).
  • You are results driven by getting the best outcome for our customers and their business. 
  • Though this is an autonomous role, you are in a team therefore be a team player.
  • Have good listening skills and know how to turn information into action. 
  • Are self-motivated, with a natural ability to problem solve and “Get Stuff Done”. 
  • You are organised, can multitask and able to re- prioritise constantly. 
  • You are naturally curious and analytical. You have a continuous improvement mindset and are humble. 
  • Are willing to be accountable and take responsibility for your business.
  • Gifted at building rapport and trust quickly with different types of people.
