Every day, we set out to design, build and innovate world class digital solutions that will transform how healthcare is delivered to patients across NSW.  The Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) program will provide a highly secure, holistic and integrated view of the care a patient receives across the New South Wales (NSW) public health system. It will transform the digital systems that NSW’s public healthcare workers use every day to deliver care. The SDPR is a next generation integrated electronic medical record (eMR), laboratory information management system (LIMS) and patient administration system (PAS). The program will replace the current nine eMRs, 10 PAS and five pathology LIMS in use across NSW Health. SDPR will be delivered across NSW Health through a partnership between Local Health Districts (LHDs), Specialty Health Networks (SHNs), eHealth NSW, NSW Health Pathology and other agencies. Come work with us We have an exciting opportunity in the Single Digital Patient Record program within eHealth NSW Program Delivery Directorate for a Business Intelligence Developer. Reporting into the Solution Architecture and Technical Analysis Capability Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for the creation and support of reporting content and analytics tools. You will be working closely with key project stakeholders (including vendor teams) to gather, analyse, execute and support reporting and analytics content. Please, note that there may be an expectation to visit the local project team site during high intensity periods such as testing and go live. Your role will sit amongst peers in the Solution Architecture and Technical Analysis team. In addition to working on some of NSW Health’s most transformative digital projects, you will also support the ongoing development of best practice methodologies, including contributing to the establishment of a centre of excellence for this discipline, for the benefit of eHealth NSW more broadly. What you will do As an integral member of the Solution Architecture and Technical Analysis team, you will:Assume responsibility to develop and maintain responsive maintainable, robust and defect free reports, extracts, dashboards, and analytics tools as part of the operational aspects of all SDPR implementations supported and hosted by eHealth. Gather requirements and document data requirements to enable build of reports, extracts, dashboards and analytics tools. Utilise technical expertise in analysis of user requirements and technical specifications to identify, review and deliver the appropriate technological solutions that meets the organisations reporting business needs. Provide expert level technical, configuration and support, including coordinating and delivering the required support levels for complex and significant issues, problem resolution and change management in accordance with agreed service levels. Assume technical responsibility for the Design and Implementation of Performance Testing of reports, extracts, dashboards, and analytics tools. Take the lead on consultation and advice around key issues and modification requirements relating to the ongoing support, upgrades, installation and development of reports, extracts, dashboards, and analytics tools for SDPR data content. Provide plain language advice and support to users in use and implementation of the selected software and reports. Assume responsibility for the development of appropriate documentation to support the SDPR Reporting Support Model including but not restricted to Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes. Assume technical responsibility for building and maintaining cubes, extracts, custom filters and third-party Business Intelligence tools as required. About you We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who have: Extensive experience and advanced skills in SQL or SQL derivative skills in a large and complex service industry organisation. Experience using analytic tools, SQL Server Integration Services, Windows experience, Linux/Unix and appropriate computing science qualifications are desirable. Extensive knowledge of complex data models and demonstrated experience working with large and complex databases, preferably in relation to an electronic medical record. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised as well as collaboratively in a team and persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures.Strong SQL coding skills and extensive knowledge of SQL database concepts such as tables, data types, keys, joins, indexes, transactions.Substantial experience in report development and knowledge of relational database design and its impact upon performance.Ability to analyse and optimize SQL Queries with large data sets.  Familiarity with types of data optimization issues and approaches to their resolution.Experience working in a collaborative team environment using source control tools and change control management/version control processes.High level analytical skills, including a proven ability to quickly analyse and understand complex information, business processes and concepts.Skills in gathering and documenting requirements to enable build of reports, extracts, dashboards and analytics tools. Knowledge of large-scale data warehouse and reporting solutions: data warehouse integration projects using ETL tools or writing custom code; writing complex SQL queries; designing efficient DW data models; and building reports / dashboards using any enterprise reporting or visualisation tool.If this sounds like you and you’re looking for a rewarding new opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
