served as a Bishop of the Northern Region in the Diocese of Brisbane until 1992.

The Right Reverend John Noble was Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of North
Queensland since 1993 until his death. He was instrumental in his support of the
school’s development. Bishop John Noble unveiled the school’s foundation stone on
30 October 1993.

St Luke’s Anglican School is located 6 kilometres from the Bundaberg
Central Business District and is 10 minutes away from the coastal growth
corridor centred on Bargara, Innes Park and Coral Cove.
Bundaberg is a four-hour drive north of Brisbane. Flying time to Brisbane is
approximately 50 minutes, and several services operate daily. If train travel
is more your style, the Tilt Train, Australia’s fastest train, takes only four
hours to get you to Brisbane or will take you north all the way to Cairns.
Our close proximity to natural wonders such as the Great Barrier Reef and
Fraser Island along with wonderful beaches, national parks, boating and
fi shing experiences make Bundaberg a prime place to live.
There are plenty of attractions, both natural and man-made situated
through our region. Combine this with being situated so close to the coast
and the option of heading inland into the North Burnett. Bundaberg has
over 500 hectares of parkland and the City celebrates several festivals
each year, such as the upcoming Milbi Festival. There are historical
museums (including the Hinkler Hall of Aviation) situated in the Botanic
Gardens Complex. Guided tours are available of the Bundaberg Rum
Bondstore or a self-guided interactive tour of the Bundaberg Ginger Beer
Barrel. Turtle-watching in season plus many other activities add highlights
to our wonderful region.
With established export markets in horticulture, seafood, livestock, food
and agri-processing, sugar cane, aviation and education, the area has
abundant investment and employment opportunities for the discerning
entrepreneur.
We boast the best climate in Australia with an average maximum

St Luke’s Anglican School is a school of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane operated
on land owned by the Diocese. As such, the control and management of the school is
vested in Synod (and the Archbishop-in-Council) but discharged through the School
Council as the delegate of Synod.
The School is a member of the Anglican Schools Commission (Corporation); a body
established by the Synod and ascribes to the Anglican Ethos Statement developed by
the Commission, available at https://www.ascqld.org/anglican-schools-commission/
ethos-in-anglican-schools. As such, it is a ministry of the Anglican Church operated
by the Corporation and is not to be taken to be an association independent of the
Corporation.
The School Council is responsible for the development and determination of school
policy and strategy in alignment with the standards and protocols defi ned by the
Anglican Schools Commission and Diocesan Council. The School Council has two
sub-committees to advise on development and strategy. They are the Finance and
Organisation Committee and the Christian Formation Committee.
The Principal and the Business Manager are members of School Council having a
deliberative seat without voting rights.
The Charter for St Luke’s Anglican School is framed in accordance with the
Constitution and Canons of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Brisbane and in
particular the Schools Regulation Canon and the Diocesan Governance Canon. The
school’s Charter both adopts, and is to be construed subject to the Canons.

B usiness Manager
P osition Summary
The Business Manager is responsible to both the Principal and the School Council for the financial and
commercial operations of the School as defined by the Principal in consultation with the School Council in order
to deliver educational services to students and their families. The position is accountable for the full range of
accounting and financial services, facilities, grounds and commercial operations and administration of the
S chool. The Business Manager is a member of School Council having a deliberative seat without voting rights.
The Business Manager is responsible to the Principal for the efficient operation of the School in the following
broad areas;
- Strategic Planning and Master Planning
- F inancial management
- Facilities Management
- Information Technology management.
- Public relations, marketing and enrolments.

- G eneral responsibilities
In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Business Manager is responsible for and assisted by the personnel
engaged by the Principal for that purpose.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Manager will be expected to:
- Develop the financial projections necessary for future operation and planning
- M anage the development of the School Master P lan and d evelop a nd monitor a s chedule for its
