An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Manager to join the team at Windorah State School on a temporary part time basis until 6 December 2024, unless otherwise determined. This is a position available for 21 hours per fortnight (0.29 FTE).

About Windorah State School:
Windorah is one of three towns in the Barcoo Shire in Central West Queensland. It is 314km south-west of Longreach and 1,200km north-west of Brisbane. It is named after the local Aboriginal word for 'big fish'. Windorah was established in the 1880's and is known as "the heart of the channel country". It features a waterhole about 19 kilometres in length and up to 10 metres deep. This relates to Cooper Creek, which is formed by the junction of the Thomson and Barcoo Rivers just south of Jundah. The Cooper attracts many winter visitors as it is an excellent fishing spot and ideal for bird watching and water sports.
The school's students and P&C is an integral part of all these community events. Windorah State School was established in 1888 and celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2013.
Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Undertake routine activities including reception (telephone and counter enquiries), arranging appointments, correspondence and general administration, maintaining school records, such as incident reports, student admissions, enrolments and departures, processing incoming and outgoing mail and email, and once approved, ordering and arranging student transport for sport excursions, trips and other school activities.
- Perform a variety of other administrative or support services for school support staff, including printing of timesheets, leave applications and rosters, assisting with arranging approved relief for school support staff as directed.
- Administer day to day financial matters (e.g. process payments and orders, receipting, banking, reconciling invoices for payment, follow-up on late payments as directed by Principal or CQ Hub).
