About Us
Australian Pet Welfare Foundation is a research, education and advocacy organization dedicated to getting Australia to zero euthanasia of healthy and treatable dogs and cats by 2027. We do this through research and creating new knowledge to change government legislation and improve how local governments and shelters manage homeless dogs and cats.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organised, passionate individual capable of delivering exceptional customer service and managing processes end-to-end. This role involves supporting administrative, secretarial, and customer service functions. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, working closely with our Business Manager and Executive Director in our Kenmore office for three days a week during school hours.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage phone and email inquiries from the public and donors.
- Support key programs and projects with administrative tasks including data entry, document management, and filing.
- Assist in preparing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, research, and travel planning.
- Collaborate on finance activities, including invoice processing and reconciliation.
- Support the fundraising team and manage donor communications.
- Contribute to social media management and CRM data handling.
- Keep accurate records for reporting to external stakeholders including our Board of Directors and the welfare organisations we work with.
- Perform general office duties and other tasks as directed.
Selection Criteria
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in an administrative, secretarial, or finance role, demonstrating the ability to perform with precision and professionalism.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Strong organisational skills, with a high level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, ensuring tasks are managed efficiently and accurately.
- A detail-oriented approach, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard of accuracy.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, able to approach new and unfamiliar tasks with confidence and creativity.
- The capacity to work effectively both in a team and independently, taking full ownership of tasks and demonstrating a proactive attitude in all endeavours.
- A solid understanding of general technology concepts, coupled with a keen willingness to learn and adapt, making you a versatile and valuable team member.
