About the Role
This newly created role requires an experienced Lean Manager to join the team based out of their manufacturing site in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing and setting the pace of business transformation and continuous improvement strategy on their current business model. The Lean Manager will work closely with stakeholders on all levels of the organisation to improve operational performance in line with the company's business system.
The successful candidate will be a lean expert and results-driven. You will work with their global Business Systems team and report to their global director, who is based in the US. This multifunctional role requires you to be hands-on from the ground up, working on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement projects and initiatives to support the business, focusing on automation and productivity improvements.
- Drive the operational improvements and high-performance team culture
- Ensure implementation and standardisation of Lean Principles and tools across the organisation.
- Develop and continuously improve processes within operations, supply chain, and logistics at the site, as well as supporting functions.
- Act as an internal consultant providing Lean recommendations, expertise, and coaching for teams and line managers.
- Identify risks and opportunities for improvement projects based on statistical data and business process analysis.
- Facilitate Kaizens to close KPI gaps with appropriate Visual and Daily Management
- Supply innovative solutions and best practices for the organisation.
You will ideally have the following:
- University degree (or international equivalent), preferably in Engineering or Business, Science or equivalent
- Multiple years of Operations and Lean experience
- Manufacturing or engineering background with a proven track record of leading improvement projects in manufacturing.
- Excellent lateral leadership, analytical, planning and communication skills on all levels of organisation.
- Working knowledge of Lean principles including SixSigma, Lean, Kaizen, TPS etc.
