We seek an experienced trade qualified butcher, committed to delivering our values and our vision – as leader of our meat, seafood and poultry team, located within our independent award-winning supermarket in the beautiful Barossa Valley.

About the role
From sourcing our meat, seafood, and poultry - to delivering time-saving quality meal options - we are looking for a leader who can deliver - with a focus on team support and development, partnering with our suppliers, meeting food safety compliance, and creating opportunities to enhance our premium products.
Our butchery department is something to behold; every day is diverse but may include:
- taking a hands-on approach as a leader – ensuring the teams daily operations are carried out efficiently and reflect our values;
- building premium cuts, creating enticing cabinets and value-added products – ever-evolving and innovative;
- working with our artisan and specialist suppliers developing opportunities;
- liaising with our customers about our exceptional product lines - sharing passion and knowledge;
- leading the team always to deliver a high standard of professionalism.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a “butcher of distinction” with a qualification in butchery and experience managing a butchery business or supermarket department.
You must be able to demonstrate:
- an authentic nature with exceptional customer service skills;
- a strong and supportive leader for the team;
- accountability in your decisions towards achieving strategy;
- the ability to efficiently and transparently manage multiple tasks within a bustling store;
- strong financial and business acumen;
- flexible work roster to balance operational and employee needs (some weekend work is required)
