Spano Group is an award winning independent family supermarket retailer with over 30 years retailing experience, currently looking for a Qualified Butcher to join their enthusiastic and passionate meat department in our Warwick IGA store.
About The Role
We are currently seeking a qualified Butcher to commence immediately. This hands-on role will suit a fit energetic person looking for a secure position within the supermarket industry. From preparing and presenting prime cuts and providing exceptional customer service this role is a pivotal role within the store.
The role is Full Time, and opportunity to expand within the team as we operate multiple sites across Southern QLD. so if looking for a rewarding career this is the job for you!!
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Butchery Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Preparation of products, including cutting, trimming, and slicing
- Operation of machinery and equipment, including mincer, grinder, and band saw, etc.
- Packing, wrapping, and labelling products (as required)
- Providing exemplary customer service, including responding to enquiries and requests
- Maintaining general department cleanliness
- Compliance with all relevant legislation, including Food Safety, Trade Measurement, and Occupational Health & Safety, etc.
- Uphold and maintain all Policies & Procedures, including uniform standards
- Any other tasks as required by the Butchery Manager and Store Manager
- Must be a trade qualified butcher with experience in either supermarket or an independent Butcher shop.
- Deliver high retail standards within the Meat department
- Australian Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) or equivalent Qualified Butcher
The successful applicant must be able to provide a copy of their Trade Qualifications.
