Butcher, Smallgoods Maker, Apprentice Butcher, Boner & Knife Hand Positions

For over 70 years, our family business had been operating in the Lockyer Valley; famously known for our high-quality meats and authentic smallgoods. 

Schulte's has been proudly developing and supporting many butchers in their careers in the Lockyer Valley.  Our business is expanding and we are looking for Retail Butchers, Smallgoods Manufacturer, Apprentice Butchers, Experienced Boners & Knife hands. We have full-time and casual positions available in both Retail and Manufacturing. 

Skills & Experiences

Retail Butcher:

• Trade Qualified (Cert III Meat Processing - Retail Butcher).
• Excellent Customer Service.
• Professional presentation.
• Confident communication skills.
• Experience with training of Apprentices.
• Smallgoods making experience desirable, but not essential.

Smallgoods Maker:

• A minimum of 2 years experience with smallgoods manufacturing
• Professional presentation
• Confident communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of smallgoods products
• Working knowledge of processes and quality assurance procedures.

Apprentice Butcher:

• No experience necessary, all training will be provided.
• An interest in learning all aspects of being a Butcher and making smallgoods essential.
• Passing grades on all theoretical components of your current Retail Butcher Apprenticeship (if applicable).
• Can deliver excellent customer service.
• Professional presentation and high standard of grooming.
• Confident communication skills.
• Ability to work at pace and multi-task.

Boners & Knife hands

• Experience with multi-species would be an advantage. 
• A minimum of 2 years proven experience in Boning or Slicing duties.
• Relevant qualification (Cert II/ III Meat Processing) advantageous but not essential.
• Proven high level of knife sharpening skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of Quality and Food Safety Requirements.
