Under the Valuation of Land Act 1978 (VLA), the Valuer General is responsible for maintaining valuation rolls of all rateable and taxable land throughout the State and conducting interim valuations as required. On behalf of the Valuer General, the Rating and Taxing branch provides values for use by local governments, government agencies and emergency services as a basis to determine property rates, service charges and levies. The Specialist Valuations branch provides market valuations, government assets valuations (including insurance valuations) and mining and business interest valuations.The Cadet Valuer provides support across all stages of the valuation process, while developing their own skills and knowledge in valuations.
