Follow us on LinkedIn to stay informed about exciting job opportunities and updates. to join the conversation.The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to infants / children / young people up to 16 (18 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.Join our team as a drive-in drive out clinician, based @ WCHN campus to contribute to providing children and young people with the best mental health care through our regional CAMHS community services and programs.The OpportunityExciting opportunities exist within CAMHS to join us as a Clinician (DIDO).Role Responsibilities:
  • Accept accountability for the outcomes of clinical practice for children, adolescents, and their families with mental health issues.
  • Address inconsistencies between practice and policy within the team.
  • Deliver specialist child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with complex needs.
  • Ensure optimal consumer care.
  • Provide assessment, education, and counseling for optimum consumer health and recovery.
  • Consult and liaise with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organizations.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement activities, and policy development within the practice setting.
  • Adaptable position given expectations of DIDO and overnight outreach requirements at CAMHS regional centres.

  • The ability to Communicate and work with other professionals, facilitate group functions and work as a team member.
  • The ability to Work with a high degree of responsibility with limited supervision and direction.
  • The ability to Communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical assessments and interventions of a complex nature in relation to children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues, and their families using a range of theoretical models.
  • Knowledge of a variety of assessment and intervention models for working with children, adolescent and families.
  • Experience in driving within regional areas.
