As a Fundamental Inputs Capability Working Group Coordination Officer you will provide FIC Coordination & Integration (C&I) and ILS Support (Integrated Product Support) to the AIR6500 series program to support the successful implementation of the projects, spanning work to achieve individual project FIC C&I and ILS tasks in support of both individual projects (working to their PMs) and synchronised/synthesised “programmatic” Capability Integration goals that benefit multiple projects within the program.
The AIR6500 Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) Coordinator, working to the DD Capability Integration, will be responsible for supporting tasks for FIC C&I and ILS sub-tasks for the Air Defence Systems Branch AIR6500 series program and projects within the program
Primary responsibilities/functions and duties:
- Coordinate and conduct Working Group tasks for Capability Integration, comprising FIC requirements to support the program.
- Assist with the development of the FIC Coordination Plans (FCP’s) and related ILS artefacts for the program.
- Support the CASG facilities representative at SEG run Facilities Working Groups for the program.
- Develop, nurture and effectively engage stakeholder relationships with the capability manager (AFHQ), RAAF customer (SRG/3CRU/114MCRC), other Defence organisations and industry.
- Effectively coordinate, communicate and collaborate with the Integrated Logistics Support Managers, FIC Coordinators and project transition staff within the program.
- Conduct additional ILS tasking as required to support the Deputy Director Capability Integration and ILSMs as required.
- Conduct and oversee support tasks to maintain mechanisms such as Request for Information Registers and SharePoint/Web tools, provide meeting support, support to ERP introduction and House of Governance.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other Air Defence Systems staff, AFHQ, IAMD PMO and stakeholder groups to ensure that there is effective coordination of all activities in support of organisational objectives.
Under direction from the AIR 6500 series program DCI / DDCI, the AIR6500-1 initial package of tasks include:
- Contribute toward the development of an AIR6500-1 FIC Realisation Plan (FRP) to define the coordination and integration of the FIC through to the realisation of capability.
- Coordinate the delivery of longitudinal FIC elements at an appropriate scale to meet the demands of AIR6500-1 TR2A and integrate these FIC elements to enable capability realisation.
- Work in close consultation with the AIR6500-1 TR2A release FIC coordinator and transition manager to achieve capability realisation from individual releases through to in-service.
- Build effective relationships with external to CASG FIC providing and responsible organisations including CIOG, AFHQ and JLC
- Expand the FRP methodology to the other projects within the series program as it becomes applicable.
- Ensure lessons are captured and learned through FIC realisation that can be applied across the series program.
- Support the knowledge development of new and existing team members within the CID in respect of FIC coordination and integration.
Reporting requirements:
- Provide Monthly reports to Director Capability Integration via the AIR 6500 Deputy Director;
- Provide weekly status updates to the Deputy Director Capability integration and Project Managers.
- Align with project reporting requirements where applicable
Maintain an effective working relationship with other PDO staff, AFHQ, IAMD PMO, other Groups and Services, and industry stakeholders to ensure that there is effective coordination of all activities in support of organisational objectives.
Skills:
- AIR6500 Program FIC Working Group Coordinator will have either; a solid CASG Graduate Program, Defence ADF/APS ILS or Capability Development background, an appreciation of the ‘Capability Life Cycle’ as expressed in the One Defence Capability System, and an appreciation of the structure of the ADF, its Services, their ILS and FIC requirements, and the war fighting roles that are performed. They will be able to rapidly learn to draft high quality Defence documentation including plans and concepts, pay attention to accuracy and detail, display initiative and work independently within the management structure. They will demonstrate high level analytical skills, be well organised and able to set realistic goals and schedules, identify and manage risks, communicate well in writing and in person, and be able to form strong respectful relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors and a broad stakeholder base.
- Tertiary qualification, demonstrating analytical skills, that meets the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
- NV2 security clearance (NV1 Min)
- Knowledge of the Agile development and delivery methodology.
- Demonstrable performance against areas listed in ‘skills’ section.
- Demonstrable experience in a capability development, delivery, or sustainment role within Defence.
