Job description

The role:
The Cardiac Physiologist assists in the management of patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) through provision of high-quality cardiac services in the fields of cardiac implanted devices, echocardiography and associated diagnostic investigations.

  • The team of Cardiac Physiologists at the Royal Hobart Hospital is close-knit and committed to providing the highest quality patient care. We work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Cardiology.
  • The Royal Hobart Hospital is a teaching hospital in collaboration with the University of Tasmania and is the largest public hospital in Tasmania with many statewide services.
  • The hospital is centrally located in Hobart and surrounded by many amenities and is accessible by public transport.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $71,441 - $107,878 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
  • Undergraduate tertiary qualification in clinical physiology/biomedical science or related field
  • Eligibility for registration accreditation with the Australian Council of Clinical Physiologists Board and/or eligibility for accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
  • Current Driver's Licence
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: * Conviction checks in the following areas:
  • crimes of violence

  • serious drug offences
  • crimes involving dishonesty
  • serious traffic offences
  • Identification check
  • Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
