JOB DESCRIPTION:We seek a Carding Engineer to join their manufacturing team. As the Carding Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our carding machinery, contributing to the production of high-quality textile fibres for our carpets and flooring products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guide, teach, and coach employees through all aspects of Carding tasks, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
- Operate and maintain carding machines to process textile fibres according to production requirements and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, adjusting as necessary to optimise efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks and inspections on carding equipment to prevent downtime and ensure reliability.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs or adjustments to minimise disruptions to production.
- Collaborate with production teams to coordinate workflow and prioritise tasks to meet production targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Keep accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities, and production data.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate III in Textile Production.
- Previous experience working with carding machines in a textile manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on machinery.
- Understanding of carding processes, machine settings, and fibre characteristics.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A current fork license is desirable.
