About the Role
We are seeking highly motivated, confident, and competent Care Support Workers to provide quality care, based on assessed client needs, that promotes quality of life and enhances the ability of individuals to maintain their independence in their home and community.
The ability to develop long-lasting relationships is essential for participant, their families and their care team. We are therefore looking for Care Support Workers who are seeking ongoing long-term employment and who are committed to providing the best care, with a great deal of patience.
Reporting directly to the Community Care Coordinator, you will be supported by an experienced and well-trained team of Nurses and care staff, to deliver safe and advanced care.
Your skills
- Knowledge of both or either: current Aged Care and/or NDIS best practice standards
- Assisting people who are aged and or have a disability during their daily activities, such as assisting with mobility, personal hygiene and dressing, and with medications.
- Performing light touch housekeeping tasks
- Assisting to prepare food and snacks
- Arranging social activities, supporting activities such as shopping
- Providing companionship, with friendly and emotional support
- Liaising with our Care Coordinator / Case Managers / Rosters
- Documenting services provided, incidents and/or accidents, time sheets and updating other records
- Participating in monthly team meetings, training, reviews and quality improvement strategies
Essential qualifications
- Certificate III in Assisted Services, Aged Care, Disability or Community, Individual Support - provide date of completion
- Minimum 1 year experience in field work with participants / clients
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance or willing to obtain
- Current QLD Driver's licence
- Copy of current FluVAX and COVID-19 vax incl booster
- Road worthy & registered vehicle
- Comprehensive car insurance
- Smart mobile phone
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
