The tasks & responsibilities entailed to perform the job description above:
Pre-Works
- Inductions & Training -
- When working on a construction site you must hold a General Construction Induction (GCI) card.
- Carry out site-specific inductions for all workers.
- Inspect tools and check operation of controls daily before use. Faulty electric tools will not be used.
- Working both, in a team of installer and being left on your own after instruction, should the occasion require. We endeavour to have a minimum 2 person to any project
- Being instructed & briefed, by the Director or Administration Manager, on each project’s details.
- All materials and requirements will be organised by either Director or Administrations Manager – should the supply be different to project details, relay to person above you.
- Using the work van, to drive to locations in the metropolitan area.
- Liaise with clients, or person responsible.
Site Inspection.
- Assess subfloor conditions or existing flooring and make recommendations to meet Australian Standards.
- Measure Areas to be installed.
Site preparation
- Prepare subfloors to Australian Standards.
- Remove existing floorings or coverings; including carpet, timber or tiles.
- Preparation of door jambs and architraves
- Installation of timber cover strips
- Preparation of substrate
- Measure & Laying underlay
- Applying adhesive
Installation
- Installing timber flooring
- Installing trims
Finishing & Covering
- Site clean-up and waste disposal
- Installation only of floor protection including
Post-Works
- Get Sign-off from Client
- Advise of anything that needs to be noted about project.
- Supply Timesheets
Professional Clean
- Prepare all surfaces with sweeping or vacuum.
- Professional deep cleaning.
- Rejuvenate the floor using appropriate products, with mechanical slow speed mono-dish buffer.
