Due to our expanding organisation, Tec-NQ is recruiting for a Carpentry Trainer on a Fixed Term basis to be based in Cairns QLD. The successful applicant will need to be able to travel to Townsville to conduct training as required.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of a Carpentry Trainer is focused on providing quality trade training through the facilitation of vocational education and training to apprentices.
The ideal candidate for this position could be an experienced Trainer Assessor or experienced construction professional ready to come off the tools and into the classroom. You will be able to fulfil the following:
- Conduct training and assessment ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, including compliance to relevant national and industry training standards.
- Ensure that training and assessment processes are being followed, files and records are maintained to company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain an effective feedback system to ensure that accurate and timely information regarding training outcomes is accessible to employers and apprentice feedback is accessible to management.
- Vocational experience and industry currency to deliver training and assessment in Carpentry.
- Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation preferred.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Possession of a trade qualification in carpentry with a minimum of five years post trade experience working in the carpentry industry;
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to use information technology in various formats and combinations to enrich and extend the learning opportunities of the students;
- Queensland ‘Blue Card’ to work with children or eligibility to obtain; and
- Current C-Class Australian Drivers Licence.
Desirable
- Current possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110 with the required units). The Cert IV in Training and Assessment is a requirement of the role, but we can support the completion of this qualification if the successful applicant does not possession this qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and assessment of Certificate III in Carpentry with the ability to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching and learning.
