Our client is a not-for-profit Community Services organisation that provides support to children, young people, individuals and families in the Maitland-Newcastle community. The organisation provides a range of Child, Youth and Family, Community, Counselling and Clinical services which are designed to support clients to achieve their goals and to access services which allow them to reach their full potential.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Case Manager to join the Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) program on a part-time basis in Taree/Gloucester. The successful candidate will assist families with accessing the required support across domestic and family violence, mental health, drug and alcohol and social disadvantage services to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children, young people and families.
Reporting to the Manager Youth Engagement Services, the Case Manager is responsible for:
- Providing support and guidance to individuals and families in relation to vulnerability and providing referrals to relevant services;
- Holding a direct caseload and providing one on one counselling to young people and families experiencing known vulnerabilities;
- Conducting assessments and implementing case plans relevant to the individual/family's personal goals;
- Work collaboratively with schools and the broader community to increase networks of support available to families and young people;
- Providing and promoting parenting education programs
- Uphold mandatory reporting in line with legislative requirements.
About You
For this position we are seeking a proven Case Manager with Early Intervention programs. You will also possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Allied Health, Education, Social Sciences and/or equivalent experience in early intervention programs;
- Understanding of the needs of children and families affected by trauma and experience working within a trauma informed practice model;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respectfully counsel and mentor young people and families from many different walks of life;
- Previous experiencing delivering group programs e.g. life skills and parenting education programs;
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively with schools, service providers and the broader community;
- Current NSW Drivers Licence, Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check.
