Job description Specialist Family Violence Service - Crisis Accommodation and Case Management.
0.8 EFT (4 days per week) – some on call hours required (minimal). SCHADS level 5 + Salary Packaging options and above Award EBA conditions Permanent ongoing role
GMI have recently transitioned from a communal model to newly developed Core and Cluster model (one of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Family Violence), with new purpose-built facilities. The role of the Case Manager is to provide family violence risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and holistic case management support to victim/survivors (inc. children and young people) of family violence.
The successful applicant will have qualifications in Social Work or related discipline (Nursing, Midwifery, Mental Health, Counselling, Youth Work, Alcohol and
Other Drugs, Public Health, Community Development or Psychology) and willing to engage in a professional development plan to meet the minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioner (further details in Position Description). They will practice from an intersectional feminist framework and recognise family violence as a gendered issue that impacts significantly on women and children/young people, whilst drawing from other relevant legislations and frameworks to ensure systemic, inclusive and strengths-based service delivery.
