Your Role

Dynamic role providing a range of outreach support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Shoalhaven & Illawara region. You will be joining an inclusive and collaborative team, where your skills and expertise will be valued. We provide opportunities for growth and professional development, ensuring that our employees are equipped to make a difference in the lives of our clients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Working within a person-centered and trauma-informed framework to meet the identified needs of our clients
  • Collaborating with our members & volunteers to provide assistance  to clients, including advocating for social housing ,navigating government entitlements, and supporting those impacted by domestic and family violence
  • Contributing to the successful implementation of our organisation's strategic plan within your team
  • Referring clients to appropriate internal and external services to meet their needs and support their goals
  • Advocating on behalf of clients at government departments, courts, and other service providers
  • Developing case plans with clients and working together to achieve goals and objectives
  • Maintaining accurate and professional client records
  • Meeting service targets and collecting relevant statistics and data

You Will Need

  • A minimum TAFE Certificate IV or currently undertaking tertiary study in welfare or a related field
  • Previous experience providing support to marginalised and vulnerable individual
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues relating to homelessness, including family breakdown, mental illness, and addiction
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Sound computer skills
  • The ability to work independently and use sound judgement in crisis and emergency situations
