About the Role

  • Gain extra experience while studying your Bachelor of Midwifery program.
  • We are looking for Assistants in Midwifery who will provide individualised excellent midwifery care by contributing to and supporting the wider maternity care team to maximise the health outcomes for the women and babies within our maternity service.
Where you'll be working
  • Singleton Maternity at Singleton Hospital.
  • We have newly built world-class birth suites that promote active labour and birthing including waterbirth.
  • When working as an Assistant in Midwifery at our hospital, you will gain experience across all areas of midwifery including antenatal, birthing and postnatal care, working under the supervision, guidance and direction of the Registered Midwife.
  • Singleton is a picturesque riverside town in the Hunter Valley, with rolling vineyards and plenty of outdoor adventure opportunities.
  • Singleton is just over a 2 hour drive north of Sydney, and only an hour from Newcastle, with trains from Sydney stopping regularly.

This is a Category A position.
