- Hourly Rate: $148.90 p/hr - $188.79 p/hr including the 25% Casual Loading MDO2 | Multiple Casual Vacancies
The Gynaecology, Obstetric or Obstetrics & GynaecologyCasual Consultant provides clinical services of the highest possible standard to the Department patients, both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.
About the Role:
Your duties may include:
- Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients
- Coordinating the follow up care of patients
- Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and medical students
- Contributing to an after-hours on-call service in accordance with a roster agreed by the Head of Unit
- Overseeing the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift
- Casual Consultant employee is required to maintain all relevant Role Description conditions of employment as per standard Role Description
- Casual Consultant employee will need to commit to a minimum number of sessions of clinical engagement such as (outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, contribute to teaching and/or on-call commitment) as agreed at the time of commencement of employment).These commitments may be altered by negotiation from time to time.
- Current minimum number of sessions per year required to maintain casual contract is 20 clinical sessions (outpatient clinics, theatres, on call sessions or days). 5 days or combination
- These sessions may apply as needed and with mutual agreement.
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration
- Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Respect for the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families.
