About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and efficient Casual Cook to join our kitchen team. To be a successful applicant you must be a team player and possess the ability to work the grill and pan sections. You will work under the guidance of our chefs and must be committed to providing an excellent service delivery with a keen eye for detail. You will assist the kitchen team in the preparation and cooking of quality freshly cooked meals for our residents and their guests in our dining room, café, bar, event spaces, and compliant with HACCP principles in accordance with current food standards and food safety supervisor obligations.
Position Requirements will include but not limited to
- Assist in the efficient and timely preparation of meals for our dining room, café, bar & event spaces.
- Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen space
- Able to work both as a team player and autonomously.
- Adherence to HACCP and LDK policies
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications/Certificates
- Current trade qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery) or a hospitality qualification
- First Aid & CPR certificate
Professional Experience
- Cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or retirement village
Capabilities
Strong customer service ethos and empathy for the elderly
Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety
Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
Passionate and excited about cooking and creating dishes.
Ambitious and self-motivated.
Demonstrated ability to work within OH&S and continuous improvement environment.
Essential Conditions
You must be flexible in your working hours and be available on Saturday and when required during the week.
Federal Police Clearance must be attained, and declaration made of any future charges or convictions that could potentially affect your role within LDK.
