Casual Overnight Boarding Supervisor
Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College has a vacancy for a Casual Overnight Boarding Supervisor, start date to be negotiated in preparation for the 2024 school year. You will be rostered 1 to 2 shifts midweek (Monday to Thursday) during school terms. Hours of work are 10:00pm to 7:30am. This position is a member of the Boarding team, and reports to the Assistant Head of College – Boarding. The Boarding team is responsible for the care, support, and formation of boarders throughout their time at the College.
Primary duties of our Overnight Boarding Supervisors include:
- Ensuring the security of Br Terence Residence, Fourviere Residence, and the Br Geoffrey Building (ie. doors secure, and students in their rooms).
- Carrying out a number of student roll checks throughout the shift.
- Carrying out active supervision of the five residences, periodically throughout the shift to ensure that boarders are safe and behaving appropriately.
- Responding to student needs if unwell and dispensing medication under the direction of the Registered Nurse on duty.
- In the event of the fire alarm sounding, leading the evacuation of students from the buildings.
- Completing early wake ups for students who request them.
- This role requires a valid Working with Children Blue Card.
- Duty of Care certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Advanced First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
