Laverton Community Education Centre (LCEC) is a Learn Local RTO in the western suburbs of Melbourne. LCEC delivers EAL training under its SEE, AMEP and ACFE contracts. We also deliver accredited VET qualifications in Aged Care, Early Childhood Education and Care, Education Support, and Work Education.
About the role
We are seeking expressions of interest for Casual Relief Teaching roles in our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program and Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) for 2024. These programs deliver and assess Victoria EAL Framework qualifications.
Skills and experience
Successful applicants will have demonstrated successful experience in:
- Teaching and assessing English as an Additional (EAL) Framework qualifications
- Meeting RTO requirements in assessing and reporting EAL assessments
- Using adult learning principles in an EAL context
- Creating and/or adapting engaging lessons in response to EAL students' needs
- Managing administrative duties involved in delivering class lessons, assessments and daily attendance reporting.
Note on qualification requirements
Teachers in the SEE and AMEP programs must have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122). TESOL qualifications held must include a minimum 22 days of supervised teaching practicum in TESOL.
