Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Casual Traffic Reporter to join our 6PR team.

As a Casual Traffic Reporter, you will get the opportunity to work across a variety of our shows and liaise with the newsroom, as you support them with regular live Traffic updates and reports.

Day to day, you will report to the Content Manager, and your duties will include but are not limited to the below:

• Researching, writing and voicing regular live traffic reports within our programs and news services
• Go live-to-air with detailed traffic reports and advice for listeners during major traffic events
• Edit and upload regular traffic reports for Nine’s digital and supplementary platforms
• Maintain a relationship with related services, including Emergency Services and Main Roads
• Cross-checking all material for accuracy and ensuring content is legally sound
• Provide support to the Executive Producer, Presenter and News Director
• Work with our News and Digital content teams to ensure consistency among our content

Qualifications

You will also have:

• Detailed knowledge of Perth’s roads and transport network
• Broadcast quality voice and annunciation
• Audio recording and editing skills
• Knowledge of news and current affairs
• Experience in radio or other news media
• Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication and broadcast-writing skills
• The capacity to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-focused environment
• Have a sound understanding of media and broadcast law
• Most importantly, a team player!
