Who are we?

After more than four decades of service to the Tasmanian community, Lifeline Tasmania remains steadfastly committed to our vision of a resilient Tasmania free of suicide.

Lifeline has been operating in Tasmania since 1973, commencing as two chapters (Lifeline North West and Lifeline Hobart) which merged in 2012 to form Lifeline Tasmania, we are now a single organisation incorporated in Tasmania, with state-wide reach and community connections.

Lifeline Tasmania’s values of Respect, Care and Support, Optimism, Inclusion and Social Leadership provide a framework of behaviours that guide the way we interact with each other, our clients and the community.

The Opportunity

Lifeline Training and Support team is here to help the Tasmanian workplaces develop confidence in having conversation skills that save lives, playing a vital role in building a stronger, more resilient Tasmania.

Our Training and Support may be a small team of facilitators and admin wizards – but their impact is mighty, and we are now looking for some new Training Facilitators to join this amazing team on a casual basis.

Our casual Training Facilitators will deliver high-quality, face-to-face workshops across our suite of training programs, to individuals and groups across the community, both internally and to external clients.

About You

An autonomous trainer with a demonstrated ability to deliver workshops across a variety of topics, some of a sensitive nature, you are knowledgeable, engaging in your delivery and can simply hit the ground running.

With legendary story telling skills, you are always able to take even the toughest audience along for the ride, and your highly developed, informative and engaging communication skills allow you to relate to a variety of demographics and learning styles.

Consistently learning yourself, you ensure your knowledge around contemporary facilitation best practice is maintained, and you possess a strong understanding of the concepts of Learning Design and Development and facilitating learning.

You are happy to share your thoughts around continuous improvement opportunities or gaps in the market when the idea grabs you, and are comfortable developing, moderating and delivering training programs, as and where required.

The Technical bits…

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

Hold tertiary qualifications in Education, or similar relevant discipline, or 3 years demonstrated experience as a Training Facilitator

Have proven capability and knowledge to use a variety of software including PowerPoint, Microsoft Dynamic, and other basic IT skills.

Hold a current unrestricted manual Tasmanian driver’s licence and be willing and able to obtain a current National Police certificate and current registration to work with vulnerable people.

Experience with the delivery of mental health and trauma training programs and knowledge of, or experience working within, the Not-for-profit sector would be considered desirable in this position.

If this sounds like you, and you want to be part of our Training and Support team environment, keep on reading and apply today!

For a copy of the position description, including the selection criteria, please email Sarah Gray, on **@lifelinetasmania.org.au

Applications must include the following:

  • a covering letter that details your interest in the role and relevant experience,
  • a statement addressing the selection criteria
  • details of two current work-related referees.

Applicants that do not address the selection criteria may not be considered for an interview.
