Salary range between $1,179 to $1,415 per week ($61,519 to $73,804 per annum) + $18.28 weekly allowance + 11% Superannuation.

The role will see you working in a crew assisting with environmental sustainability of waterways and catchment areas around the Central Coast. There is an emphasis on restoring and maintaining riparian, aquatic ecosystems and Storm Water Quality Improvement Devices (SQIDs) for the purpose of improving waterway stability and water quality. You be responsible for working to ensure that these standards of quality are achieved allowing for the enjoyment of native vegetation and natural systems for future and current generations.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other Catchment Maintenance Officer vacancies across the Central Coast Council area.
Key activities of this role include:
Provide specialist input into catchment infrastructure design and planning to ensure effective and efficient ongoing maintenance outcomes;
Assist in aquatic operations such as wrack collection and dredging;
Assist and support the Crew/Team Leader to plan, coordinate, implement work plans and resources required to carry out the rehabilitation, maintenance and protection of the natural/built environment.
Essential Criteria:
Certificate III qualification in Applied Science, Conservation Land Management, Bush Regeneration or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development;
Current Class C Drivers Licence;
WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) or willing to obtain;
Current Provide First Aid – HLTAID0011 or willing to obtain;
Demonstrated experience in operations of natural areas management and restoration e.g. SQIDs, wetland ecology, river and stream processes and riparian rehabilitation;
Previous experience in minor constructions works;
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and operation of erosion and sediment control plans;
Demonstrated experience in the application and interpretation of the principles and practices associated with managing native vegetation and natural systems including practical bush regeneration techniques;
Proven ability to read and interpret work plans, drawings, designs and specifications with experience in administration, scheduling and delivery of operational work programs.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role.
