Why Does My Role Exist?  We are looking for a dynamic Category Business Intelligence Analyst to join our passionate Category, Strategy & Insights team. This new role is pivotal to the delivery of our strategic objectives and has been created to enhance our data capabilities, provide category reporting solutions, deep analysis, and actionable insights to support the category and broader commercial team in making data-led decisions that deliver commercial benefits. This involves leveraging analytical tools and techniques to extract, manipulate, and visualize data from multiple sources, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities.

What My Day Looks Like?

  • Category Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct deep analysis of scan and shopper data, using statistical and analytical tools to interpret datasets and uncover trends and correlations. Collaborate with commercial finance to integrate internal data and provide strategic recommendations based on insights.
  • Category Dashboard Development & Reporting: Design and develop interactive category dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Automate scan and shopper reports, continuously optimizing processes to ensure integrity, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Revenue Growth Promotional and Pricing Analysis: Support the RGM lead and cross-functional team with analysis and reporting. Develop and maintain Category RGM dashboards, evaluating the effectiveness of promotions and pricing strategies, Through category first lens, conduct comprehensive scan & shopper analysis of all revenue drivers and provide regular updates on revenue performance.
  • Category Development Support: Assist in strategy sessions and range reviews with retailers, providing easily digestible insights into category performance and forecasting future trends. Proactively utilize statistical techniques and predictive modelling to identify business opportunities, risks, and challenges.
  • Lead Advancement in Data Tools & Reporting: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and analytics. 

What We Are Looking For?

Skills:

  • A genuine passion for analysing data and integrating multiple data sources to develop meaningful insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong skills in using IRI/Nielsen scan/Quantium and panel data.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial and financial acumen with a strong understanding of FMCG category dynamics, pricing, and promotions.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in an analyst role, revenue growth management, pricing analysis, or related roles within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization using BI tools.
  • Highly experienced in utilizing category data sources such as Quantium, Circana, or Nielsen.
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques, predictive modelling, and potentially machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with Blueshift preferred.
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data modelling, and database management.
  • Strong interest in AI, with experience in leveraging AI tools for operational efficiency, problem-solving, and innovative decision-making, while staying updated with the latest trends and technologies.
