SalaryTroocoo are on the lookout for an experienced Category Manager to join a local council on an initial contract to EOFY. As Category Specialist (Goods and Services), you will be responsible for managing, supporting and coordinating the category management team within the Procurement and Contracts Unit.
This position will provide mentoring and guidance in relation to the delivery of category management and procurement sourcing strategies delivering value for money, identifying benefits and aligning with Council objectives. The role will support the Unit in providing leadership and direction in the development and delivery of sustainable, innovative procurement practices and contract lifecycle management.
Role responsibilities:
- Lead and manage goods and services categories including undertaking procurement activities across the organisation.
- Deliver competitive best practice tendering and contract management and administration to achieve strategic procurement initiatives.
- Develop committee report submissions, contracts and associated documentation required for contractual engagement compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Provide risk focused, expert technical and strategic procurement advice to key stakeholders to manage expectations and enable delivery of effective procurement activities across Council.
- Manage and coordinate the engagement of external contractors, including leading negotiations ensuring timelines are met in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain contract records within Council's Contract Management Software system to assist stakeholders with efficient contract management and reporting.
- Develop and maintain a variety of documentation including procedures, guidelines, reports, templates, web-based information, publications, promotional material, briefings and submissions in relation to tendering and contracts.
