Category Specialist - Mid Sized Resources company with strong emphasis on sustainability
Category Specialist for this global mineral company.
They are a leader in their field and have expertise in exploration, development, mining, processing, marketing, and rehabilitation.
Duties:
- The focus of the role will be to manage the logistics portfolio; however, the role will also encompass process chemicals & reagents, coal, chemicals, utilities, fuel, product warehousing, and other strategic categories.
- Work with cross-functional teams to complete detailed category analysis and implement category strategies for selected categories
- Assist with the implementation of strategic category plans, contracts, and supplier relationship management for the term of the contracts for selected-based materials and services
- Supervise and conduct detailed spend analysis, opportunity profiling and develop category plans for selected categories
- Provide input into total cost of ownership analyses for projects, and major supply requirements.
- Identify process and cost improvement opportunities and champion project to execution.
About You:
- Extensive experience in a procurement category management role. Practical Commercial Experience
- Accomplished negotiator with advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to apply strategic thinking and processes to category portfolio
- Demonstrated development and delivery of category plans (logistics an advantage)
- Formal qualifications from University, APICS, LAA, CIPS in procurement and/or supply chain
- Sound knowledge of MS Office Suite applications.
This role is based in Perth CBD but also offers the opportunity to work from home 2 days a week.
