About this opportunity
As a passionate and experienced Catering Assistant, you will work as a member of our wider kitchen team at our Croydon Park site. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering and presentation whilst handling, preparing and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks. You will demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with food safety standards.
- Ideal candidates for our residential home will have a background in or familiarity with Greek cuisine.
- Food preparation
- Ensure written protocols are followed for special dietary needs
- Ensure the work environment is clean and safe and resident's needs are met
- Promote a harmonious work environment
- Ensure legislative requirements governing food services are met
- Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures
- Maintain knowledge of food safety requirements
- Provide friendly and enthusiastic customer service
- Certificate II or III in Catering Operations or similar
- Proven knowledge of Food Safety Standards
- Knowledge of safe and correct food handling, preparation and storage
- Cook / Chef Experience (highly desirable)
- Aged Care Experience (highly desirable)
- Knowledge and experience using commercial kitchen equipment
- A sensitive and empathetic approach to residents and visitors
- Previous experience in a food handling role and/or cafe service
- Sound commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Effective time management skills.
- A current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply)
- Covid and seasonal influenza vaccination status to be provided
