Role Overview:
Join UnitingSA's hospitality team! As a Catering Assistant, play a key role in preparing resident meals and supporting the kitchen. Contribute to creative catering, delivering high-quality, and nutritious meals. Be part of creating a delightful dining experience!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation and serving.
- Support daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare and present meals, catering to allergies, dietary requests, and religious beliefs.
- Collaborate with Chef Manager, Chef, and Cook for a balanced, healthy menu.
- Manage food orders within guidelines and delivery timelines.
- Stay informed about residents' needs.
- Adhere to residents' dietary requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Adapt to changing rosters with flexibility.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Understand Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities.
- Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide catering services aligned with UnitingSA's mission and vision.
- Possess a sound knowledge of Food Safety legislation, WHS, Safe Work Systems, and Infection Control in aged care or healthcare settings.
Essential requirements
- Possess a current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to apply.
- Hold a valid and current National Police Clearance or willing to apply.
- Provide evidence of current COVID-19 vaccinations, including two doses and one booster shot.
